Standard Fees: For some individuals, utilizing private pay is an advantage over most insurance since you will not be term-limited in your therapy, your insurance company will not be given any details of your therapy and you will not be given a diagnosis (this is helpful in case you are ever sued and your medical records are subpoenaed). You may also be able to claim mental health as a medical expense tax deduction.
- $100 per 50-60 minute in-office or TeleHealth session of individual therapy
- $125-150 per 60-90 minute in-office or TeleHealth initial intake/assessment session.
For outdoor-based therapy, fees vary based on location. Please contact me so that we may choose a location and determine fees. Our first session for outdoor therapy will take place in my office in Pittsboro in order to discuss your needs and goals, options of where to meet, and arrange fees.
If access to mental health services creates a financial hardship for you, we can discuss rate adjustments that may help alleviate your burden until you are feeling stabilized and on your feet again, emotionally and financially. In addition, I offer some client spots for members of Open Path Collective. To see if I have currently have any openings available, please visit my listing on Open Path.
Accepted Payment Types
I accept cash, checks, Health Savings Account (HSA) cards, and all major credit cards.
I currently accept the following insurance:
Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina
If you are covered by another insurance carrier, I am happy to print a receipt for you to submit for possible reimbursement. Coverage varies greatly, and my services may be covered in part or in full by your insurance provider. Please contact your HMO or health insurance plan directly to learn more about what your plan covers. Below are some questions that are helpful to ask:
- Do my insurance benefits include mental health services?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
- Will I be required to pay a copay?
- Is there a limit to the number of sessions per year my plan covers? What is my deductible?
- Do I need to get approval from my primary care physician?
- Is TeleHealth covered?
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.
